What CIPHERNAUT is
CIPHERNAUT is a free web cipher tool for fun, learning and puzzle games. It runs entirely in your browser and needs no sign-up or account.
A game, not a security tool
The ciphers in this app are historical and playful. They are not meant to protect sensitive data - anyone who knows the cipher or has the puzzle link can read the message. Use modern encryption tools for secure communication.
Use
You may use the app for free for personal, school and club purposes, including printing cards and running games. Do not use it to harass others or to spread unlawful content via puzzle links.
Microphone, camera and vibration
The Morse receiver uses the microphone, the flashlight uses the phone's rear camera. Both start only when you ask, are processed only on your device and are never sent anywhere. Screen flashing is limited to 3 flashes per second; if you are sensitive to flashing light, do not use this feature.
No warranty
The app is provided as is. We aim for every cipher to work exactly as the sources describe, but we are not liable for errors, outages or loss of data stored in your browser.
